NJ is First to Acquire Patient Simulation Technology for Standardized Readiness Program
Sarasota, FL & Trenton, NJ -- Medical Education Technologies, Inc. (METI) today announced that it will deliver state-of-the-art human patient simulation technology to New Jersey’s Department of Health and Senior Services. The department will be the first in the country to implement patient simulation in a statewide program to train private and public sector health professionals for disaster readiness and homeland security medical consequence management.
The program calls for incorporation of patient simulators into disaster drills and mass casualty exercises. Typically, such exercises employ static mannequins and live people with mock injuries. With the patient simulators, first responders will now have the opportunity to fully treat casualties as they would in a real disaster. The patient simulators will also offer health care providers the chance to treat victims of bioterrorism before they encounter them in an actual event. Furthermore, emergency management officials will have an extended means to evaluate and standardize statewide protocols for homeland security. 1 2 3 |
