Partnership marks the latest development in METI‘s ongoing Professional Education Initiatives.
Sarasota, FL - The recent successful introduction of Medical Education Technologies, Inc. Human Patient Simulator (HPS) technology in connection with the Patient-centered Acute Care Training Program (PACT) by the European Society of Intensive Care Medicine (ESICM), has allowed the two organizations to announce a formal relationship to implement, develop and market a HPS/PACT collaboration.
As the world’s largest manufacturer of medical simulation products and educational tools, METI will work with the ESICM to develop patient simulation technology incorporating the PACT curriculum, a modular multidisciplinary program used by over 800 doctors from medical institutions throughout Europe and worldwide, aimed at improving quality education and training in acute and critical care medicine.
Ultimately, the goal of introducing human patient simulation based on the PACT program is to extend the current content into a hands-on experiential learning environment. ‘ESICM is excited at the potential of realistic simulation scenarios in acute medicine specialty training, given the success of the 'Simulation Workshops incorporating PACT', organized during its annual congresses since 2004.’ said Dermot Phelan, Chair of the ESICM Education and Training Committee.
“ESICM is at the forefront of the development of educational standards and best practices in intensive care medicine in Europe and around the world.”, said Lou Oberndorf, president and CEO of METI. “We are honored and excited that METI’s technology and educational tools are able to play a role in this vital initiative.”
